By developing the original project of a group of local entrepreneurs, the Giomi family of Lucca who had already founded the Italcarta Group (European leader in the field of wrapping paper) created one of the most important production achievements in its own field.
Particularly of note is the fact that Continental Paper was the first paper-mill in Italy to apply the de-inking process to the production of printing and writing paper through the sole use of waste paper, a method used for years in the wrapping paper field where, obviously, the cleaning of the fibre assumes more limited connotations.
